PBS has announced plans to air a Walt Disney American Experience movie in fall 2015. The movie will be a four-hour film that will air over 2 nights.
The movie will include archive footage from the Walt Disney Company plus scenes from a number of Disney movies. Fans who tune in will also see videos from the Disney Parks and hear from many of the individuals who worked with Walt Disney himself.
Here’s what Beth Hoppe, Chief Programming Officer and General Manager of PBS, had to say about the movie:
For many Americans — and for me — the twinkle and swish of the Sunday night Disney logo was pure magic. It was an invitation to a special event. For my kids, introducing them to animated Disney movies from Beauty and the Beast to The Lion King brought us great joy and taught them life lessons. Now viewers of all ages can learn about the life and legacy of the man behind the magic and his continuing impact on our lives and culture.
We can’t wait to see this movie!
