ABC’s LOST Season 6 Episode 8 Recap

Mar - 16 - 10 | By: Disney Dreaming | One Comment | Share |

Oh Lost. Here we go again.

On The Island:

In ABC’s LOST Season 6 Episode 8 Recap, we see that Jin is now part of “Locke’s” group on the beach, but not by choice. Sawyer was taking care of him after he fell asleep in Clarie’s tent, and before Jin could run away, “Locke” and the rest of his newly acquired group of followers returns to the beach.

Alternate Reality:

In the alternate reality Sawyer and Miles are detectives at the LAPD. Sawyer is on a case and before the cops come bursting through the door Sawyer says his safety word “Lafleur.” This was Sawyer’s name while he was part of the Darma Initiative when the island flashed back to the 70s.

Interestingly, Sawyer and Miles worked together in the Darma Initiative on the island, and now in the alternate reality they work together as well.

On The Island:

Sawyer learns that “Locke” is the smoke monster who claims he killed the people at the temple because “It’s either kill or be killed, and I don’t want to be killed.”

“Locke” sends Sawyer to Hydra Island, but why him? “Locke” tells Sawyer that he is the best lawyer he has ever met, and he thinks he is the best person to send to the other island to find out if anyone is there. A plane had crashed on Hydra island and “Locke” believes Sawyer may find people over there who are lying about their true identities.

Alternate Reality:

Miles sets Sawyer up on a blind date and it turns out that the girl is Charlotte, the redhead who died on the island previously because of all the time travel – devastating scientist Daniele Faraday.

Charlotte and Sawyer hit it off and they end up going home together, however when Charlotte finds a news story about how Sawyers father killed his mother and then himself when Sawyer was a child, Sawyer sends Charlotte away.

On The Island:

Claire attacks Kate and while Sayid watches and “Locke” pulls the two apart. But why? It’s obvious Sayid has become infected by the evil that was foretold by the leader at the temple.

Over at Hydra Island, Sawyer finds the plane he was told to look for, as well as a number of dead bodies. He is surprised to find one person alive, a woman who says that she is “the only one left.”

Alternate Reality:

Sawyer runs into Charlie’s brother trying to find Charlie at the police department after he was arrested on drug charges, only minutes later to have Miles tell him he doesn’t want to be his detective partner anymore after realizing that Sawyer lied to him. Turns out Sawyer had been in Australia instead of Palm Springs like he told Miles. Sawyer took Oceanic flight 815 back.

On The Island:

Back on Hydra Island Sawyer finds out more about the plane that crashed – although there’s no word yet on how everyone died all together in a pile in the jungle.

“Locke” talks to Kate about Claire’s behavior, while “Locke” also says that he wants to keep everyone in his group safe. Why does he seem so nice when the smoke monster seems so mean? What’s his angle?

Sawyer realizes that the woman he found on Hydra island is lying and when he calls her on her bluff he finds himself surrounded by men with guns.

Kate and “Locke” have a chat on the beach. “Locke” tells Kate about his past and his “disturbed” mother who caused problems for him which “could have been avoided, if things had been different.”

But why tell Kate? “Because now, Aaron has a crazy mother too.”

And who does Sawyer find is behind the murders at Hydra Island? Widmore of course.

Alternate Reality:

Sawyer has a change of emotions, and goes to visit Charlotte at her apartment. When she opens the door she tells him that he blew it and that he has no chance with her.

On The Island:

Sawyer has a meeting with Charles Widmore – and Sawyer is none too pleased because he remembers that Widmore was the one who sent the freighter to the island to kill everyone. The men talk about “Locke,” who Sawyer says he can deliver straight to Widmore so he can kill him. But we know that Sawyer is good at lying, so is he lying to Widmore or will he go back and lie to “Locke.”

In exchange for bringing “Locke” to Widmore, Sawyer asks for safe passage off of the island.

On the other island, Claire comes to Kate to apologize – thanking her for everything she did for Aaron.

Sawyer heads back to the island to report to “Locke.” Sawyer tells “Locke” about Widmore – whose side is Sawyer on?! Sawyer also reports to “Locke” that the group on Hydra island is setting up Pylons that will keep the “smoke monster” out. He even tells “Locke” exactly what he told “Widmore.” Looks like he’s on “Locke’s” side!

Alternate Reality:

Sawyer shares with Miles the book that Charlotte found in his drawer about his past, as well as shares the story about his name “Sawyer.” That is – until someone crashes into their parked car and runs off! The police chase is on!

Oh Kate.

On The Island:

Sawyer tells Kate about Widmore and says he’s going to have Widmore and “Locke” fight amongst themselves while he and Kate escape off the island on the sub – sounds devious!

While this episode had more little clues linking characters and times together, we can’t seem to figure out what’s going on with this whole alternate reality thing. Let’s discuss!
