ABC has just announced that Barry Corbin will be playing Eric Stonestreet’s father in an upcoming episode of “Modern Family.” Barry will play the character Merle Tucker, father of Cam Tucker, and his character is going to be very masculine.

A new drama from Shonda Rhimes (“Grey’s Anatomy”) is on the way to ABC. Originally the show was called “Damage Control,” but it has recently been renamed “Scandal.” Here’s a description of the show from IMDB:

“When you get into trouble there’s only one person to call, Olivia Pope. Olivia is a professional ‘fixer’ who makes problems go away before anyone even knows they exist. For the moneyed, the powerful and even the President, Olivia is a legend in her field. Her spectacular success is mostly due to her unbreakable rule of always trust your gut. No matter how careful you are, when you do damage control for a living, you’re bound to cause some damage to your own life. She and her crew eat, sleep, live and breathe crisis. Are you excited for the new series?

Vanessa Hudgens appeared on ABC’s “Live With Kelly” on February 8, 2012. During her time on the show she spoke with host Kelly Ripa about her new film “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.” V’s new movie will hit theaters on February 10, 2012 and also stars “The Hunger Games” actor Josh Hutcherson.

Josh and Vanessa previously dated, so you don’t see them doing much press together, at least in the US. The duo did do press in Australia and Hawaii together, but things got a bit awkward during one of the interviews when the show’s host asked about the two still being an item – uh oh!

Did you tune in for Vanessa’s appearance on “Live With Kelly” yesterday? And, do you plan on seeing “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” when it releases to theaters?

Melissa McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone, who played opposite her in “Bridesmaids,” will guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC’s “Happy Endings.” In the episode Ben will play the landlord of Darren, Max and Dave, and according to reports he won’t be too happy with the three guys!

We don’t know the exact date that Ben’s episode will air, but we do know it will be in either March or April.

Mandy Moore is voicing characters in the “TRON Uprising” show on Disney XD as well as in the upcoming Disney Junior TV show “Oki’s Oasis,” and now she’ll be acting in another show that’s part of the Walt Disney Company family. No word yet on the name of the show, but we do know that it is expected to air on ABC.

The series will reportedly be about a newlywed couple who gets the opportunity to run a restaurant, but the location is close to the wife’s family who is a bit high-maintenance.

The cast of ABC’s comedy “Cougar Town” made a Funny Or Die video in which they pitch ideas about what to rename the show. The title of the series has been under fire since the beginning since fans don’t like it. Do YOU have any ideas about what to rename the show?

The third season of “Cougar Town” will premiere on ABC on February 14, 2012.

Ellen DeGeneres will be executive producing ABC’s new show “The Smart One,” which will star her wife Portia de Rossi (“Arrested Development,” “Better Off Ted”).

The comedy will be about a successful woman who ends up working for her ditzy sister who is now a mayor!

“Twilight” actress Ashley Greene was on ABC’s “Live With Kelly” on February 3, 2012 to promote “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on February 11, 2012. The photo above is of Ashley as she left the studio in New York City yesterday.

Ashley is also in a new movie called “LOL: Laughing Out Loud,” which is set to arrive in theaters sometime this year. The movie also stars Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore and Douglas Booth. We’ll keep you posted when a release date for the film is announced!
