ABC’s Flash Forward DVD Review And Giveaway

Feb - 23 - 10 | By: Disney Dreaming | Comment | Share |

We didn’t think it was possible, but ABC has yet another show that drives us crazy just as much as “LOST” does! While “LOST” is gripping to those who love shows about things that are “out there” and could never actually happen, the show “Flash Forward” gets you right on the edge of your seat because the events in the show are in fact feasible and under the right circumstances could actually happen!

We watched the first 10 episodes over the last two days – and we are absolutely addicted. At first we were excited to watch because Sonya Walger (Penny from LOST) and Dominic Monaghan (Charlie from LOST) are in the show, but we fell in love with all of the characters after the first episode. Below is a list of some of the actors in the show:

- Joseph Fiennes
- John Cho
- Jack Davenport
- Zachary Knighton
- Peyton List
- Brian F. O’Byrne
- Courtney B. Vance
- Sonya Walger
- Christine Woods
- Lee Thompson Young
- Ryan Wynott
- Lennon Wynn
- Dominic Monaghan
- Genevieve Cortese
- Barry Shabaka Henley

ABC’s Flash Forward releases on DVD today, February 23rd, from Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

Aftermath

If you haven’t heard the premise of the show, it is that everyone in the world loses consciousness at exactly the same moment, for exactly the same amount of time, two minutes and seventeen seconds – but there are two known people who did not pass out, but why? Could they be behind the black out?

But was the black out really just a black out? Not so much! Everyone who lost consciousness saw what they believe to be their future – but can the future be changed? What about the people who didn’t see anything in their “Flash Forward”? Does that mean in 6 months – the date of the flash (April 29, 2010) – they will no longer be living?

Action Acting

The Flash Forward DVD that releases to stores today has the first 10 episodes of season one, the rest of which will be begin to air on ABC March 18th!

A Look Ahead

We’ve already written a reminder in our calendar so we don’t forget to tune in! Will you?

Jan - 05 - 10 | By: Disney Dreaming | One Comment | Share |

Touchstone Pictures Home Entertainment has just released the 10th Anniversary Edition of “10 Things I Hate About You” on both Blu-ray and DVD today, January 5th.

Trailer

The movie stars Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles in a modern-day “The Taming of the Shrew” originally from William Shakespeare.

The plot of the movie is a rocky romance between the main characters who don’t think they have much in common from the start but learn over time that they are more alike than they ever thought.

Other celebrities involved in the film include:
- Joseph Gordon-Levitt
- Larisa Oleynik
- David Krumholtz
- Gabrielle Unione
- Larry Miller

We absolutely adore this movie. We think that the relationship between Heath’s character and Julia’s character is romantic and fun and this is definitely a classic romantic comedy that will never get old.

Bonus features on the DVD include:

- 10 Things I Love About 10 Things I Hate About You 10 Years Later – How do you turn a high school teenage romance film into a cult hit? Start with a new approach to literary classic; find some talented young actors and pepper in the right amount of punk rock! Ten years after the film’s initial debut, we’ll sit with the director Gil Junger, and writers Kirsten Smith and Karen Lutz to reflect and hear the story about how this classic teen comedy came to be. Through these interviews and never-before-seen behind the scenes footage, original cast interviews, deleted scenes, original screen test and personal photos from the writers’ scrap books we will tell the remarkable story of this smash hit and why everyone loves 10 Things I Hate About You.

- I Want You To Want Me: The 10 Things I Hate About You Screen Tests — Viewers are invited into the casting office for an insiders look at the screen tests that won actors Heath Ledger, Julia Styles, Larisa Oleynik and Susan May Pratt their classic roles. This featurette includes an introduction by director Gil Junger and writers Kirsten Smith and Karen Lutz

- Audio Commentary with co-writers Karen Lutz and Kirsten Smith, and stars Andrew Keegan, David Krumholtz, Larisa Oleynik and Susan May Pratt Padua High sophomore Bianca Stratford (Larisa Oleynik) has two invitations to the prom and one big problem: her father (Larry Miller) won’t let her go unless her older sister Kat (Julia Stiles) agrees to attend as well. It looks like both girls are staying home, since independent and unconventional Kat has no interest in going—until she meets the school’s mysterious new bad boy Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger). What she doesn’t know is that her sister’s suitors (Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Andrew Keegan) have ponied up $300 to convince Patrick to woo her. Just as Patrick realizes he has unexpectedly fallen for his “assignment,” Kat finds out about the scheme and Patrick has to launch an all out campaign to win her back. Inspired by Shakespeare’s “The
Taming of the Shrew,” 10 Things I Hate About You takes a witty and contemporary look at the eternal battle between the sexes, high-school style.

The Two-Disc DVD with Digital File is set to $39.99 while the Two-Disc Blu-ray Hi-Def with Digital File is set to retail for $44.99.

“EXTRACT” On Blu-ray And DVD December 22, 2009 Review

Dec - 19 - 09 | By: Disney Dreaming | Comment | Share |

On December 22nd, Miramax Films and Buena Vista Home Entertainment are releasing the movie “EXTRACT” on Blu-ray and Hi-Def DVD.

This hilarious comedy is directed by Mike Judge who also directed “Office Space” and “King of the Hill.” In the movie, a Vanilla Extract factory, run by Jason Bateman’s character, is turned upside down when a gorgeous con artist, played by Mila Kunis from “That 70’s Show” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” shows up for work.

Mila’s character meets one of the workers from the company who was involved in a freak accident while on the job, and even though the employee doesn’t want to sue, Mila convinces him to do so in a get rich scheme!

We don’t want to give away the ending of the movie, but we want you to know that we laughed from the time we turned the movie on until the time it was over. There are so many intricate, thought out details and so many fun characters involved that we couldn’t help but sit on the edge of our seats waiting for the next punchline.

Other actors in the film include:
- Kristen Wigg
- Ben Affleck
- J.K. Simmons
- Clifton Collins, Jr.
- Gene Simmons

Kristen Wigg’s relationship with her husband, played by Jason Bateman, is hilarious in the movie! They start off strongly disliking each other, but after a series of funny circumstances they end up finding common ground by the end of the film. All because of the help of Ben Affleck’s character!

Bonus Features on both the Blu-ray and DVD editions of the movie include:

- Mike Judge’s Secret Recipe—What are the ingredients of a classic Mike Judge film? Go straight to the factory floor to uncover the writer and director’s secrets. From shooting in a real working factory to the unique cast of characters and situations, Mike Judge always seems to have the right recipe.

Bonus Features on the Blu-ray include:

- Extended Scenes—5 scenes featuring extended portions with Joel, Dean and Brad that didn’t make the final cut of the film.
- Deleted Scene—Straight from the factory floor, watch this exclusive deleted scene where Dean explains his rather abrupt departure from Willie’s party the night before and finds out Joel got punched in the face.

The movie is priced at $39.99 for the Blu-ray and $29.99 for the DVD.

We are currently running an “EXTRACT” contest – which you can sign up for here, for your chance to win your own copy of “EXTRACT.”
