Disney announced that “Strange Magic” a Lucasfilm will be released on January 23, 2015. The film had been in production when Disney purchased Lucasfilm back in 2012. It is based on a story by “Star Wars” creator George Lucas.
Disney will release it through Touchstone Pictures, which Disney uses to distribute their DreamWorks Pictures’ films.
Here’s the official synopsis from Disney,
‘Strange Magic’ is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion.
Stars that voice the characters in the film are,
Evan Rachel Wood
Meredith Anne Bull
Disney announced the film project just days after they secured the Internet domain name for “Strange Magic,” this caused Disney observers, bloggers and media outlets to think that the title was possibly the name of a “Frozen” sequel.
