It looks like a new Disney Park could be opening in Egypt! According to Ashraf Salman, Egypt’s investment minister:

There are discussions going on with Disney International to build in Egypt its first Disney Park in the Middle East, similar to Disney France.

The Egyptian media has also been reporting that Disney is considering building its world-famous amusement park in Egypt.

Let us know what you think about a new Disney park in the Middle East. Do you live in Egypt, would you go to the park?

Update: A spokesperson for Disney released the following statement: “At Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, we continually look for ways to grow our business and as part of that process, we have conversations with many different entities. While Egypt is an attractive market, we have no plans for the region at this time.”

Disney’s “Cinderella” Movie Trailer Debuts!

Walt Disney Pictures just released the trailer for their new live-action movie “Cinderella.” The movie will be released to theaters on March 13, 2015. It has been 65 years since the release of Disney’s original animated classic, “Cinderella.”

Director Sir Kenneth Branagh spoke with E! News recently of the challenges involved with making this movie:

It’s a very unusual project because anybody sitting down almost certainly knows the story. They’ve had it read to them or they’ve seen the film. I think we get to refresh, reactive and recreate ‘Cinderella’ from the inside out. The honoring of the original comes in, I think, as sort of a lightness of touch and a sort of lavishness.

Sir Kenneth Branagh, a five-time Academy Award nominee, went on to say:

I wanted to take the world of the ball. Life can be pretty rough sometimes and it’s a wonderful thing to be able to invite the world to the ball. And then, from the inside, we’ve given it a contemporary feel that is human and humane and strangely enough, not built around the idea that Cinderella’s life depends on finding a man or things, like clothes or a title, or just hoping this magic will come along. It’s much more about who she is, what she feels about herself, and taking that kind of sort of spiritual cue to make it refreshing in a contemporary way.

Some of the members of the cast include:

Lily James
Cate Blanchett
Helena Bonham Carter
Nonso Anozie
Hayley Atwell
Ben Chaplin
Holliday Grainger
Derek Jacobi
Richard Madden
Sophie McShera
Stellan Skarsgard
