Some Disney stars, including Doc Shaw, Olivia Holt, Roshon Fegan, Debby Ryan and Kelsey Chow, met with First Lady Michelle Obama on February 11, 2012 for Disney’s Magic of Healthy Living and Let’s Move campaigns.

Larry The Cable Guy Records Voices For Mater’s Cars Land Ride At Disneyland

Cars Land is getting ready to open at Disneyland’s Disney California Adventure and Larry The Cable Guy recently recorded the voice of “Cars” character Mater for one of the attractions, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. You can watch part of Larry’s recording session in the video below. Here’s what was posted along with the clip:

“Walt Disney Imagineers fly to Omaha, Nebraska to work with Larry the Cable Guy, the voice of ‘Mater’ from the movie ‘Cars,’ in a voice over session for a new attraction at Cars Land at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California.”

Fun! We can’t wait for Cars Land to open!

Disney Gets Rid Of Rule Banning Park Employees From Having Beards

Disney has just gotten rid of the rule banning its park employees from having beards. However, the Walt Disney Company has a new rule that facial hair can not exceed a quater of an inch.

This is the first time the beard rule for park employees has been relaxed since Disneyland opened in California in 1955. Thoughts?

Disney Begins Promoting Radiator Springs Racers From Cars Land At Disney California Adventure

Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group has created this photo-realistic composite of the Radiator Springs Racers ride coming to Cars Land at the Disney California Adventure park. According to the Disney Parks Blog the photo may be used in promotional material to get fans excited for Cars Land, which will open this summer.

Landscape Of Flavors Food Court At Disney’s Art Of Animation Resort

Disney has just revealed some new details about the Landscape Of Flavors Food Court at Disney’s Art Of Animation Resort. The food court will open when the resort opens in May 2012.

Here’s what Chef Ed Wronski, Director of Food and Beverage Concept Development for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, had to say about the Landscape Of Flavors Food Court:

The idea is that you customize your choice. From burgers to pasta, salads, ethnic flavors, omelets, even parfaits and gelatos, everything is made fresh as you order.

Here are some menu highlights thanks to the Disney Parks Blog:

“The Soup-Salad-Sandwich Shop lets you create your own salad (with beef or chicken) and offers a caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes on focaccia, or a Buffalo-style turkey sandwich with arugula and a blue cheese-Buffalo sauce-mayo spread. Both are served with delish house-made potato chips.

The World Flavors Shop adds Indian-African flair to breakfast, too, with scrambled eggs, tandoor potatoes, Portuguese sausage, slab bacon and a mini-naan; or a veggie flatbread sandwich on naan with cauliflower, spinach and paneer. Lunch and dinner is a choice of tandoori chicken or shrimp, Mongolian beef with vegetables, mahi mahi, Portuguese sausage or roasted acorn squash served with sides and naan bread.

The Pizza Shop features make-your-own pasta, cheese and pepperoni pizzas and meatballs on ciabatta bread. Room delivery is an option, too.

The Burger Shop includes a breakfast burger with chicken breakfast sausage, cheese and scrambled eggs on a multi-grain bun, and a steak-and-eggs breakfast burger with a burger topped with fried eggs, cheese and bacon. Besides the traditional burgers, lunch and dinner includes a surf and turf burger with crab cake and fried popcorn shrimp, and a pastrami cheeseburger topped with pepper jack cheese and a slice of fried green tomato.

The ‘grab ‘n go’ Market Shop offers drinks, yogurt, bagels, pastries, gourmet cupcakes, cookies and gelato.”

Exciting! We can’t wait for the new resort and food court to open at Walt Disney World!

Sheer Romance Clothing Collection Arriving At Disney February 18, 2012

A new clothing collection for women, called Sheer Romance, will arrive at Disney on February 18, 2012. Above are some artist renderings of the designs that will be on T-shirts available at the Disney Vault 28 at the Disneyland Resort and and Tren-D at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Tom Cruise and his daughter Suri Cruise spent the day at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on January 25, 2012. Suri was spotted with facepaint and a smile on her face as she and her dad spent the day together.

No word yet on where Tom’s wife Katie Holmes was. Were you lucky enough to spot Tom and Suri at the park?

Happy 19th Anniversary To Mickey’s Toontown At Disneyland January 24, 2012

On January 24, 1993 Mickey’s Toontown opened at Disneyland! Today marks the 19th anniversary of the park attraction, a space that was created by Disney designers Dave Burkhard and Joe Lanziserio.

Toontown is geared toward a younger audience, and it’s a place inside the park to ride rides and spend time with the Disney characters who live there.
