Is Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World” Show Not Happening?

June 15th, 2013 by

Disney Channel Girl Meets World

Uh oh, this doesn’t sound good! While there has been a ton of news about the “Boy Meets World” stars since the announcement that Disney was filming a spin-off pilot titled “Girl Meets World,” it looks as if that publicity might not have been enough to convince the Disney Channel to pick up the show!

Actor Teo Halm, who was set to play the son of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) has taken to Twitter to reveal that he is looking forward to audition season in Hollywood. Here’s his Tweet:

Ughh dead season is the worst. The auditions will come back soon.

We hope that the Disney Channel makes an announcement about “Girl Meets World” being picked up soon, but Teo’s Tweet doesn’t make us very optimistic!

“Boy Meets World” Star Rider Strong Talks About Disney’s “Girl Meets World”

June 12th, 2013 by

Rider Strong Girl Meets World

“Boy Meets World” actor Rider Strong wants to come back to reprise his role on the Disney Channel spin-off show “Girl Meets World.” Rider told E! News:

I feel like I should show up at some point and finish the storyline. We’ve been talking. I just want it to be done right. I really want it to be classy and good. I want it to be something that makes the fans proud. It really depends on what the show is going to be. It has to define itself and it has this weird challenge of appealing to a new audience, but then also appealing to the old Boy Meets World audience. I don’t know how they are going to pull that off.

How does Rider want to see his character reintroduced into the story? He spilled:

We’ve talked about it a little bit. I think he’s got to be in trouble of some kind and he’s got to pull Cory into trouble. That’s definitely the way it’s going to be because that’s always how it went. I’d like to see him happier. I feel like Shawn was destined for tragedy. I mean, gosh, they killed my father, my mother abandoned me, my girlfriend and I broke up at the end of the show. They really just made Shawn’s life he**. It would be good if he’s in trouble but in general is happy.

Rider also opened up about “Boy Meets World” getting popular again almost overnight when the Disney Channel announced it was planning a spin-off show:

This last year has been kind of weird. It seemed like we slipped through the cracks and had gone the way of most ‘90s shows, where it’s like we’re not really talked about, which I have to say was kind of relaxing in my personal life to not be recognized in the streets so much anymore. So then apropos of nothing I actually did, this last year has been all Boy Meets World all the time. It’s been overwhelming, but really great!

Now if only the Disney Channel would make the official pickup announcement for the series!

Ben Savage Makes A Promise About “Girl Meets World”

June 10th, 2013 by

Ben Savage Girl Meets World

“Boy Meets World” star Ben Savage has made a promise about the upcoming “Boy Meets World” spin-off show “Girl Meets World.” Ben told TVGuide:

We’re not doing a Boy Meets World reunion. It’s a new show that will hopefully speak to a new generation, and I think people will get that. We’re not going to mess with their memories; we’re doing an entirely new thing that will hopefully help a new generation grow.

Rider Strong added:

I’m very hesitant, that’s why I’m not fully 100 percent [in] yet. I don’t think anyone from the show expected the response to be so positive, so I’m excited, but I’m going to wait and see. If it’s a good situation, I feel like I owe it to the fans.

Sounds to us like “Girl Meets World” is a go even though Disney hasn’t made the official announcement yet!
