Former Disney-owned Miramax may enter into a pretty lucrative deal with Netfix in the near future that would allow Netflix to stream Miramax’s library of movies and would make Miramax $100 million over five years. Miramax has over 700 titles.

The deal to sell Miramax Films hasn’t gone through yet so Disney is still in charge of the company – leading to their decision to sell off individual movies to other film studios. The first two movies to be released from Miramax’s hold include “The Debt” and “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.”
“The Debt” was set to release on December 29, 2010, while “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” was set to release on January 21, 2011. However, the films are now being sold by Disney to Filmyard Holdings and the release dates have been pushed back to later 2011.
