Disney and DreamWorks’ “Real Steel” has been nominated for a 2012 Oscar Academy Award. Here’s a message about the nomination from the Walt Disney Company:

“As announced today, we are thrilled that REAL STEEL (on the same day and date as its home entertainment debut) has been nominated for the 2012 Academy Awards for its great Visual Effects. This is the second Academy Award nomination for Erik Nash (previously nominated for I, Robot in 2004) and first-time Academy Award nominations for John Rosengrant, Dan Taylor and Swen Gillberg.”

Congratulations to everyone who worked on “Real Steel”!

The song “Man Or Muppet” from the Walt Disney Pictures movie “The Muppets” was nominated for a 2012 Oscar Academy Award for Best Original Song! Watch the music video for the track below:

Here is a hilarious clip with the cast of ABC’s hit comedy “Modern Family.” The video aired on the ABC television channel to promote the recent 2011 Oscars.

In the clip you can see the “Modern Family” cast playing charades and trying to figure out which movie they are each acting out. Of course Mitchell and Cam (Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet) are the best at the game, and the funniest!

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal, who dated for about three months and broke up in January, were spotted having what looked to be a serious conversation at the Vanity Fair Oscars party over the weekend.

The Oscar Academy Awards aired on the ABC Television Channel last weekend and while 37.6 million people tuned in to watch, the show’s viewer numbers were still down 9.8% from the 2010 awards show. In 2010 41.7 million viewers tuned in for the Oscars.

Do you think ABC made the right decision to extend its contract with the Oscars until 2020, or do you think the viewer numbers will continue to decrease in the coming years?
