Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been friends for a while now – ever since they both dated members of the Jonas Brothers. The duo just opened up to InStyle magazine about their relationship, and how they support each other in their lives.
Here’s what Selena said about her friendship with Taylor:
[Taylor is] like a sister to me. We dated the Jonas Brothers at the same time and ended up becoming best friends. She’s the one I call when I’m having any sort of sadness. She’s very nurturing and protective.
And here’s how Taylor spoke about Selena:
I’ve known Selena through some of the most important years of both of our lives. I’ve seen her grow up gracefully and gradually in spite of all the pressure on her. Selena has learned to make and follow her own rules, when to take a chance on projects that are out of her confort zone, and when to walk away when something isn’t right. She’s living life on her terms.

Selena Gomez recently sat down with Jake Whetter from Radio Disney to chat about her upcoming “Stars Dance” album. Selena spoke about how hard it was to narrow down the tracks on the CD, but how easy it was to choose an album title.
Selena also revealed that the song “Come & Get It” is a great introduction to her album, but that the other songs are a bit more dance, electric pop.
Still no word yet on the release date for Selena’s album, but we do know that this is the last album she plans to release – ever!
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber broke up for a while earlier this year. Selena was single during her interview with InStyle, which arrived in the June 2013 issue of the magazine on newsstands this month.
During the interview Selena spoke about being a bit uncomfortable being single. She revealed:
It’s uncomfortable that everywhere I go, people know. I don’t like that. But Justin and I never really focused on the attention. You can’t help who you date. So I wouldn’t swear off that or say that’s what I want again. I don’t know. I’m a kid, and a breakup is normal. I have to go through the emotions and feel it out. I’m doing my own thing, being with my friends, and he’s doing very well too.
It also sounds like part of the reason the duo split earlier this year was honesty. Selena told the magazine what she’d like in her “future partner,”
Honesty. You have to have honesty when you’re living this lifestyle because of the distance imposed when working – you are separated so often You have to be super-honest and open. That is key.
Hopefully Justin and Selena have a lot of honesty in their relationship this time around!
