In a recent interview with Yahoo Style, Zendaya Coleman gave us some insight on her feelings about Raven Symone, Drake and race in America.
Here’s what Zendaya had to say about fellow Disney star and friend, Raven after the “That’s So Raven” star stated that she didn’t want to be labeled as African-American,
She’s grown. She can say whatever she wants. Everyone has an opinion. Opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one and everyone thinks everyone else’s stinks.
Zendaya has said that she wants to continue to be part of the Disney family, she is currently starring in and producing the Disney Channel Original Series “K.C. Undercover”. She is also working on her next album and hoping to work with Drake.
Here’s what she says about Drake,
He has to know I’m obsessed with him
Recently Zendaya has been receiving heavy backlash after she was cast as Aaliyah in a “Lifetime” biopic even though she backed out of the role, she has been criticized for not being “black enough” to play the role.
This is what she had to say about the criticism,
It doesn’t make sense. Here’s how I put it: The first African-American President of the United States is half-black. So is he not the first black president? Is he just the first half-black President? Do we take that credit away from him? No. Whoever is supposed to play Aaliyah- whether they are half-Asian or whatever- it’s not about that. It’s about doing that with respect and integrity.
We are proud of Zendaya for standing up for what she believes in, she is a very strong young woman!
In a recent interview and photo shoot with Yahoo! Style, Zendaya Coleman spoke about what she has been doing lately.
The 18-year-old actress-singer-dancer has been very busy in the years since she started on the Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up.”
Zendaya has released an advice book for tweens called “Between U And Me” as well as self-titled debut album, which recently went platinum.
She also was the youngest person to appear on “Dancing with the Stars” where she came in runner-up. Currently she is working on a new Disney sitcom.
Zendaya talked about New York City and how she doesn’t think she could survive in the City that Never Sleeps, here’s what she had to say,
I would spend way too much money. My sleeping pattern would be all messed up. There’s just so much available! Anytime I was hungry I could go out and eat. At home things close. You have to go to sleep.
She goes on to talk about getting older and if that means she will be outgrowing her relationship with Disney.
Here’s what Zendaya had to say,
Selena, Miley, Demi – they’re all different and they all went different ways. Everyone has their own version of their career that they want to create and things they want to do and accomplish. For me, I obviously want to continue to stay in the Disney world and grow at the same time.
In Zendaya’s upcoming sitcom, “K.C. Undercover,” not only will she star, she will co-produce the show.
This is what she had to say about working,
Now I’m able to really have a vision, I can say what I want and be assertive. I can have a really, really strong voice and presence on my own show and be listened to. That’s the coolest part. I have more control; I have more freedom to make (K.C. Undercover) something that I’m proud of.
We are so proud of Zendaya! We wish her well in everything she does.
