Raven Symone

Born Raven Symone Christina Pearman on December 10, 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia. Raven-Symoné is best known for her role as Olivia on the infamous “The Cosby Show” with Bill Cosby.

This Disney star started out her career as an infant working for Atlanta’s Young Faces Inc. Modeling Agency. When she was three, Raven-Symoné auditioned for a role in the Bill Cosby movie Ghost Dad but was considered too young for the role but was recommended for a part on “The Cosby Show” and was cast as Olivia Kendall in 1989. Raven-Symoné was a regular on the show until its series finale in 1992. A year later, Raven-Symoné landed a role on the sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”. While on the show, Raven-Symoné landed her first big screen role in the movie The Little Rascals followed by Dr. Dolittle and Dr. Dolittle 2 with Eddie Murphy.

In 2002, Raven-Symoné auditioned for a role for the Disney Channel’s new series, “Absolutely Psychic”. Although Raven-Symoné auditioned as the role of the best friend, disney executives decided to cast her as the lead and change the series name to “That’s So Raven”. The show aired on January 17, 2003 and is the Disney Channel’s highest-rated and longest-running series. Raven-Symoné released two soundtracks to the show and finally, in 2003, she released her solo album, This Is My Time. In 2006, Raven-Symoné went on tour to promote that album. Two years later, she released a self-titled album and went on tour in late summer to promote it.

All throughout the show, Raven-Symoné has worked a number of side-jobs. In 2003 she starred as the lead singer Galleria in The Disney Channel Original Movie, The Cheetah Girls. In 2004 she voiced Danielle on the animated movie, Fat Albert, and appeared alongside Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. In 2006, Raven-Symoné reprised her role as Galleria in The Cheetah Girls 2. The girls recorded a soundtrack for the movie which hit #8 on the Billboard Top 200 and became certified platinum.

In summer 2007, Raven-Symoné filmed her first lead role in the movie College Road Trip with co-star Martin Lawrence. She is signed on to appear in the prequel to Meet the Fockers in the upcoming comedy, Little Fockers, due out this year. Raven-Symoné also plans to return to the studio later this year.
