Zac Efron
Our favorite hot-bodied actor from High School Musical 1-3 has just started branching off to try his hand at more “adult” roles including 17 Again and Footloose. Currently, Zac is engaged to HSM co-star Vanessa Hudgens, but we know all of you are hoping that ends so he can be with YOU!
Zachary David Alexander Efron born October 18, 1987 in San Lois Obispo, California. Zac grew up in a middle class family, father David Efron and engineer and mother Starla Baskett a secretary, with younger brother Dylan. His father encouraged him to act at the age of eleven so Zac began acting in school plays and began taking singing lessons. Recommended by his drama teacher to an agent in Los Angeles, Zac was signed to Creative Artists Agency.
In 2002, Zac began his professional acting career with guest appearances on television series such as “Firefly”, “ER”, and “The Guardian”. He landed his first recurring role in 2004 on the WB’s series, “Summerland” alongside Lori Loughlin and Jesse McCartney. Then in 2003, he starred in Lifetime’s original telsvision movie Miracle Run as Steven Morgan, one of two autistic twins. He was nominated for his performance for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-series, or Special in the Supporting Actor category.
In 2006, Zac landed a starring role in High School Musical as Troy Bolton, a popular student and captain of the basketball team. This role sent him to super stardom almost immediately. Shortly thereafter, Zac was cast to play Link Larkin in the film version of Hairspray. Zac has since reprised his role in High School Musical 2 and 3 and was named one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People in 2007.
Zac is now branching off to try his hand at more “adult” roles including 17 Again and a remake of the film Footloose. Aside from his famous roles in High School Musical, Zac has also guest starred on the Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, and starred in Disney’s The Derby Stallion. He has been dating longtime girlfriend and High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens.
