Born on July 2, 1985 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Ashely Tisdale grew up with older sister Jennifer, mom Lisa and Father Mike. Best known as Sharpay in High School Musical, Ashely has been branching out of the Disney limelight to work on a few projects of her own.

Discovered at the very young age of three by Bill Perlam, her current manager, at South Shore Malls in New Jersey, Ashely quickly landed her first commercial with JC Penny. After appearing in more than 100 commercials, by the time she was eight years old, Ashley was cast as the lead in the Broadway musical, Les Miserables. Later, she toured with the cast of Annie. A few years later at the age of twelve Ashley sang for then President Bill Clinton at the White House.

Working her way into television, Ashley appeared on such series as “George Lopez”, “7th Heaven”, “Strong Medicine”, and “Bette”. She was also cast for a role in “Boston Public” of which she received a Young Artist Award nomination for best guest performance in a TV drama.

Moving toward the big screen, Ashley lent her voice to the 1998 animated movie A Bug’s Life and earned a small role in 2001’s Donnie Darko. Not only did she take a shot at acting, but she was a Ford Model as well.

Finally receiving a recurring role on a TV series, in 2004 Ashley landed the role of Maddie Fitzpatrick on the Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”. Soon after she was cast as Sharpay Evans in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical. Along with many other cast members, this role shot Ashley into superstardom and while performing several songs on the soundtrack, of which all charted on the Billboard Hot 100, she became the first female artist ever to debut two songs simultaneously on the “Hot 100”.

After making history, Ashley signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2006. She released her first solo album in February of 2007 titled Headstrong which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. That same year she reprised her role as Sharpay in High School Musical 2 and she won her first award at Nickolodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK for Best TV Actress for her role in “The Suite Lide of Zack & Cody”. The following year, in 2008, Ashley once again reprised her role in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. She also started working on her second album, Guilty Pleasure.

Ashley is set to star in the new comedy, They Came From Upstairs, due to hit theaters July 2009. She will play the role of Bethany Parson alongside Robert Hoffman and Carter Jenkins. Ashley also started her own production company, Blondie Girl Productions. Setting another record, she was the first actress from the Disney Channel to executive-produce one of their shows. She is currently working on a new Disney Channel series based on her early life working in a mall. She also signed a deal with FremantleMedia to produce a new reality show and collaborated with Jessica Horowitz to create an animated series, “After Midnight”.
