This September Disney will begin production for their much anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock 2.” Demi Lovato will be reprising her role as Mitchie Torres and will be joined by heartthrobs Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas. This sequel to the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock” will also star the youngest Jonas Brother, the Bonus Jonas, Frankie.

The movie will be filmed at Camp Wanakita in Haliburton, Ontario and at the Kilcoo Camp in Minden Ontario. Looks like its off to Canada with Demi and the JoBros. Production will begin in Summer 2009 and the movie will premiere on the Disney Channel in late 2009 or early 2010.

Casting calls will taking place in July and August to find actors to play alongside our favorite Disney stars who are reprising their roles this summer. Other actors that are set to be in Camp Rock 2 are:

Jasmine Richards as Peggy
Anna Maria Perez de Tagle as Ella
Daniel Fathers as Brown Cesario
Jordan Francis as Barron

Demi has made clear that she hopes her character will stay the same in Camp Rock 2 saying, “I’d like her to stay the same, maybe a little more true to herself. I guess funnier.”

Like the original Camp Rock it is assumed that Camp Rock 2 will air in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Spain, Latin America, Portugal, Germany, Japan, Italy and Southeast Asia. In addition we are sure that there will be plenty of Camp Rock 2 merchandise available before, during and after the Disney Channel Original Movies release. Merchandise for the first Camp Rock movie was sold exclusively at the Disney Store and Target as well as Amazon, so it will be interesting to see if Disney is more open about where Camp Rock 2 products can be sold.
