In 1992, Billy Racy Cyrus, father to Miley Cyrus, released his debut album titled Some Gave All. The album sold over 9 million copies in the United States and 20 million copies around the world. The album included his number one single Achy Breaky Heart, which stayed at the number 1 spot for five weeks in a row while the album itself stayed on the Billboard 200 charts for much longer.

With the album Some Gave All, Bill ray received a Country Music Award for Single of the Year. He was also named Favorite New Artist and awarded Favorite Single in 1993.

Also in 1993, Billy Ray released his second and third albums with Polygram Records. Afterward, he switched to Mercury Nashville Records and recorded the following albums: Trail of Tears (1996), Shot Full of Love (1998), Southern Rain (2000).

In 2007, after Billy Ray began feeding off of his daughter Miley’s success, he released another album titled Ready, Set, Don’t Go which debuted at number 3. The hit single, named the same as the album, was recorded alongside Miley.

In 2009 Billy Ray Cyrus released his most recent album, Back To Tennessee, which has received mixed reviews from the media and country-lovers alike. Promotion for the album was received from the single’s, Back To Tennessee, inclusion in Hannah Montana: The Movie which hit theaters in April.
