The Jonas Brothers

Jonas Brothers Music

The pop band phenomenon nicknamed the “JoBros” consists of brothers Kevin (20), Joe (18) and Nick (15). The brothers’ band sensation made it big with help from Miley Cyrus – guest starring on her Disney Channel show Hannah Montana and opening for Cyrus’ Best of Both Worlds concert tour in 2007.

The Jonas Brothers got their start due in large part to Nick’s singing in the hairdressers while waiting for his mother to get her hair cut when he was a child. From there, the brothers took the long road to becoming pop stars.

Broadway:
2000 – Nick starred in A Christmas Carol (Tiny Tim & Scrooge)
2001 – Nick played Little Jake in Annie Get Your Gun
2002 – Nick was Chip in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
2003 – Nick played Gavroche in Les Miserables
Nick performed as Kurt in Sound of Music
Joe was in the play La Boheme

TV:
2007 – The brothers were stars in a commercial for Baby Bottle Pops
2007 – The brothers starred in an episode of Hannah Montana
2008 – Camp Rock
2008 – Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream Series
2009 – Camp Rock 2

CDs:
2002 – Nick released his single on Broadway’s Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, Vol. 4
2004 – Nick’s single was released on its own (Dear God, Joy to the World a Christmas Prayer)
2006 – It’s About Time
2007 – Jonas Brothers
2008 – A Little Bit Longer

Last year the Jonas Brothers reportedly made $12 Million – selling 1.4 Million copies of their self-titled album, Jonas Brothers.

Before each performance, the brothers hold a prayer circle with their family, friends and managers. The brothers also claim to meet around 400 fans before every show. The JoBros share a lot of their daily activities online with videos on YouTube – which helps their audience remain continuously updated and enamored by the brothers. The Jonas Brothers are currently on tour with Demi Lovato.

It is often assumed that Nick, the group’s chief songwriter, is the youngest Jonas Brother, however, there is a fourth brother, eight-year-old Frankie, who is often referred to as the “Bonas Jonas.” Sometimes Frankie is included in the performances – appearing briefly on stage in Boston wearing a Boston sports team jersey.

Nick Jonas was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes in 2005 – which most fans know. However, many are unaware that Nick has an insulin pump hidden under his clothes during each performance. Nick’s song, A Little Longer (Included on the brother’s third album due to release August 12, 2008) is about his experience with Diabetes. The audience often cries during his performance of the song in concert.

A Little Bit Longer

In the coming years, the Jonas Brothers will have to work to keep their fans and lead them to grow up alongside of them, rather than allowing their fans to grow away from their music.
