“Mary Poppins actor Dick Van Dyke married his makeup artist on leap day! The duo have been working together for six years, and there is a 46 year age difference between them – with Dick being 86-years-old and Arlene Silver being 40.
Congratulations to the very happy couple, who are sending a sweet message that age is just a number!
Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are about to close a deal to star in a new movie about Mary Poppins. The movie, from Disney, will be called “Saving Mr. Banks,” and will about the author of Mary Poppins Dr. P. L. Travers and how her life changed when she agreed to let the Walt Disney Company turn her book into a movie.
In the movie Meryl would play Dr. P. L. Travers while Tom would play Walt Disney. We’ll keep you posted if this happens.

Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke will be performing at this years D23 Expo on August 19th in California at the Anaheim Convention Center. Dick will be performing along with his group The Vantastix. The vocal quartet is comprised of Dick, Mike Mendyke, Bryan Chadima and Eric Bradley. If you attend the expo, be ready for their concert at Stage 23 at 8:15pm.
The group will perform a number of songs from his career – which includes the movies “Mary Poppins” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” – along with a many of well-known Disney songs.

Earlier I made my one night only Broadway debut! As a chimney sweep, in the “step in time reprise,” in Mary Poppins! Thanks for the fun! My thanks and well wishes go the the wonderful cast of @marypoppins and the crew! You all are phenomenal and such wonderful people to be with.
