This is a major bummer! Turns out Miley Cyrus’ next movie, “The Last Song” will no longer be hitting theaters in January as previously planned.
The new debut date will be sometime in April 2010.
This means that all of the promotion Miley has done recently for the movie – from her Twitter, to the new music video for the song “When I Look At You” released promoting it, to Miley having videos of clips from “The Last Song” at her Wonder World concerts – wont be doing as much for ticket sales of the movie as previously expected.

Miley Cyrus has been in Georgia this summer filming her upcoming movie “The Last Song,” but yesterday was her last day on set.
Miley kept Tweeting on Twitter about how sad she was to leave Tybee, Georgia. She said, “Last shoot day in Tybee. I don’t think my heart can handle it.”
Then later added: “I can’t quit crying. I miss Tybee already.”
When Miley heads home she will begin practicing for her 2009 North American Tour which begins this Fall (September 14). Miley will be performing 45 concerts.

Yesterday the cosmetics store See Jane reopened with a special surprise for customers who showed up. It turns out Julie Hewett made an appearance! Julie is the makeup artist for Miley Cyrus on the movie she is currently working on, “The Last Song.”
Julie has a line of makeup that features Miley and when the store opened a lot of fans got to get their makeup done by the same woman that does Miley’s makeup every day!
Julie says, “I try to do this for every film if I have a store that carries my line. I try to do this one day while I’m there.”
And great news – she’s going to be at it again today at the store in Georgia.

How could we all not already not know that Miley Cyrus is joined in the movie “The Last Song,” which she is filming this summer, by Hollywod hunk Liam Hemsworth. The two were caught filming a steamy kiss scene earlier this week! But now find out what other big celebrities will be acting alongside Miss Miley in the new film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel.
Miley’s parents in the movie will be played by Greg Kinnear and Kelly Preston. Miley’s father’s character is estranged from her and is also a previous professor at the Juilliard school of music as well as a concert pianist. As for Greg himself, some of his most recent movies include Flash of Genius, Ghost Town, Baby Mama, Fast Food Nation, Little Miss Sunshine, Bad News Bears, Robots and Stuck on You.
Kelly Preston is married to John Travolta, who was in Miley’s last movie “Bolt.” Kelly’s most recent acting gigs include a lot of television shows while some of her most recent movies include Struck, Broken Bridges, Sky High and The Cat in the Hat.
The Last Song is being directed by Julie Anne Robinson and is produced by Jennifer Gibgot and Adam Shankman from Offspring Entertainment.

Well technically a few shows up…but it was less than 10 people! Miley Cyrus held an OPEN casting call today in Savannah, Georgia for her movie “The Last Song.” At the open call her producers of the film where planning on having thousands upon thousands of screaming fans show up to try out for the film. But alas, like we said, less than 10 souls showed up. What happened!?
We think it might be because Miss Miley is such a huge celebrity and everyone would love to be in her movie that they didn’t think even if they showed up they’d be able to get a role because so many other people would show up. Looks like that was a mistake!
One of the guys who tried out for the film said the following about why he showed up to the try outs: “It’s a Miley Cyrus movie, I think that would be pretty funny if I was in it. So I figured I would come out and try.”
Even though so few people showed up it sounds like the directors were able to pick out a guy they thought would work for the part of the “bad boy” in the film. We’d love to see him!
