Disney has a new animated TV series on the way called “Sofia The First.” Sofia is a princess voiced by Ariel Winter, and you’ll first get to meet her in a Disney Channel special airing on November 18, 2012 called “Sofia The First: Once Upon A Princess.”
On February 12, 2013 Walt Disney Records will release a “Sofia The First” soundtrack! No word yet who will perform on the CD, but we’re betting Ariel’s song for the show “Rise and Shine” will be on the album! We’ll keep you posted!
Disney is not only introducing its newest princess with a TV special “Sofia The First: Once Upon A Princess,” but Disney Press has also released a new “Sofia The First” hardcover book. Here’s a description of the book:

The new Disney Channel show “Sofia The First” will be introduced to Disney Channel viewers with a special, “Sofia The First: Once Upon A Princess,” premiering on November 18, 2012 at 7/6c. Here’s a description of the show:
‘Sofia the First’ stories are set in the storybook world of young Sofia who starts out life as a regular girl. But when her mom marries the king, she is whisked off to a glamorous, but sometimes confusing, castle world of royalty, pomp and new step-siblings, Amber and James. ‘Sofia the First’ will include appearances by Fauna, Flora and Merryweather (fairies seen in Disney’s classic ‘Sleeping Beauty’) as the headmistresses of Royal Prep, the academy that Sofia, along with other princes and princesses, attends. Special event appearances will be made by classic characters including Cinderella and other Disney Princesses.
