“Friday Night Lights” and “Prom” actress Aimee Teegarden will star in a new show that the CW has ordered that is very similar to “The Hunger Games” franchise. The show is called “The Selection” and it is based off a book by Kiera Cass. Here’s a description of the book from Amazon:
“For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.”

In an interview with Prestige Magazine, Liam Hemsworth revealed that even though he is far more famous now that “The Hunger Games” has released, his fame hasn’t changed him as a person. Liam said he still enjoys doing the same things he always has, including surfing and spending time with his friends.
I haven’t really changed that much. I still do the things that I’ve always done. It’s just that I’m at a different level now in terms of my career. I’m able to meet extremely talented filmmakers and writers and directors — everyone in the business. I’m just in a different position than I’ve ever been in. But, you know, my personal life hasn’t changed. I still go surfing and hang out with friends. I just feel very lucky to be where I am and to be able to make movies.
We can’t wait to see Liam in “The Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire“!
Lionsgate has just announced a replacement director for “The Hunger Games” sequel movie “Catching Fire.” It was reported that “The Hunger Games” direction Gary Ross was trying to get more money to direct the sequel, but in his official statement to the media he said that he instead had a scheduling conflict and wasn’t available to direct “Catching Fire.” Either way, the new director who will be taking over for Gary is Francis Lawrence who directed “Water For Elephants” and “I Am Legend.”
“Catching Fire” is expected to arrive in theaters on November 22, 2013. We’ll keep you posted on the films’ progress!
