Zac Efron Pictures

Zachary David Alexander Efron born October 18, 1987 in San Lois Obispo, California. His father encouraged him to act at the age of eleven so Zac began acting in school plays and began taking singing lessons. Recommended by his drama teacher to an agent in Los Angeles, Zac was signed to Creative Artists Agency.

In 2002, Zac began his professional acting career with guest appearances on television series such as “Firefly”, “ER”, and “The Guardian”. He landed his first recurring role in 2004 on the WB’s series, “Summerland” alongside Lori Loughlin and Jesse McCartney. Then in 2003, he starred in Lifetime’s original telsvision movie Miracle Run as Steven Morgan, one of two autistic twins. He was nominated for his performance for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-series, or Special in the Supporting Actor category.

In 2006, Zac landed a starring role in High School Musical as Troy Bolton, a popular student and captain of the basketball team. This role sent him to super stardom almost immediately. Shortly thereafter, Zac was cast to play Link Larkin in the film version of Hairspray. Zac has since reprised his role in High School Musical 2 and 3 and was named one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People in 2007.

Zac branched off to try his hand at more “adult” roles including 17 Again and a remake of the film Footloose. Aside from his famous roles in High School Musical, Zac has also guest starred on the Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, and starred in Disney’s The Derby Stallion.
